澳大是一所國際化綜合性大學，前身爲1981年成立的東亞大學，1988年由政府收購，1991年改名爲澳門大學，成爲澳門唯一的一所公立大學。現設有人文學院、工商管理學院、教育學院、健康科學學院、法學院、社會科學學院、科技學院、中華醫藥研究院，以及榮譽學院。開辦學士、碩士、博士等約130個學位課程，主要的教學語言爲英語。澳大擁有一支國際化、具豐富教學經驗和卓越學術背景的教師隊伍，而且許多都是在世界著名的大學畢業。

UM is a comprehensive university with a high degree of internationalisation. Its predecessor was the University of East Asia established in 1981. It was acquired by the local government in 1988 and renamed ‘University of Macau’ in 1991, becoming the only public university in Macao. It currently offers approximately 130 degree programmes, including bachelor’s programmes, master’s programmes, PhD programmes, and other programmes, through the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences, and Honours College. English is the main medium of instruction. UM has an outstanding faculty team comprised of internationally recruited scholars with rich teaching experience and impressive academic backgrounds, many of whom graduated from well-known universities.

UM’s campus covers 1.09 square kilometres, with state-of-the-art facilities. The well-equipped campus allows UM to pursue quality undergraduate education, outstanding faculty, research excellence, and environmental friendliness, which will in turn help UM achieve the goal of becoming a world-class university with regional characteristics.
