From which kind of media source?

Macau has around 15 singers and 2 bands. The most promising and upcoming musicians are: C-plus, Nick, Priscilla, Catherine and Rico. These new musicians have already performed in the TDM-Favorite Song Election Ceremony in 2005. Some of them like Priscilla, Catherine, Rico and Nick, even performed in the Opening Ceremony for the "Macao East Asian Games Dome". Unfortunately they lack sponsors and opportunities to perform in well organized and well advertised events.

About 41 percent of the 119 students surveyed learned about musicians through radio, 20 percent from newspapers, 19 percent from families and friends, 13 percent from the Internet and seven percent from magazines. Only 13 percent have ever attended their favorite local singers' concerts.

The survey results show that much work and promotional efforts are needed to create a fruitful and well advertised environment for the existence and the development of the music industry in Macau. Despite all these difficulties, Soler proved that with their talent and determination they could get over these obstacles!

We are all hoping that Soler's success is a good example for the upcoming Macau musicians, and that it will help them to realize their dreams. Finally we all hope that Macau's music industry will grow and become prosperous for the delight of all of us.
