The Road to Success - A True Story of a Rock Band

Some times the road to success for a music band or solo singer is not a clear and easy journey, especially if these performers come from a little town, like Macau. Local artists, who choose this less traveled path, must face a lot of drawbacks. They will encounter mostly financial problems as well as other difficulties which are typical for a small city like Macau, including fewer opportunities to perform, a lack of media coverage and advertisement by production companies.

A performer, who wishes to enter into the international music circuit, is required to produce a lot of hard work, to have a unique talent, a good look, proper attitude and a lot of good luck.

We asked the most successful local band Soler, who made it to the international fame, two questions: How did they do it? and what was their secret?

For Soler which consists of twin brothers Julio Acconci (lead vocals) and Dino Acconci (guitar vocals), the love for music and the desire to sing came naturally. They grew up in the mixed cultural environment of Italian and Burmese parents, surrounded by creative and artistic family members. In their childhood they were singing in church groups and choirs.
