In order to solve the financial problem, AAPAM set up the "Animal Patronage Program" which aims to aid the huge operational funds. For MOP 88 per month, one could patronage one abandoned animal, ensuring it can enjoy the rest of its life.
"At the same time, this program also enables those animal lovers who cannot own a pet at home to have their own pets; they can visit and enjoy a great time with their patronized animals in our association who can accompany them with devotion and liveliness," Chou added. To adopt a pet from AAPAM, an expense of MOP 800 is needed as it is in fact the cost for a sterilization operation. It ensures that tragedies of this kind are not going to be repeated. "Without sterilization, the descendants of a pet will usually be dumped simply because the owner did not like them," Chou reinforced the importance of a sterilization operation. "Love for your pets involves solemn responsibility. Think twice before you adopt an animal and make them a life-time commitment," Chou advised. |
