And Chou said they would usually reply and tell the owners: "We are not going to adopt your pets, are you hardhearted enough to destroy their life and send them to the Canil Municipal?"

Macau Canil Municipal is the government organization responsible for managing dogs which were abandoned in the street, and have the authority to end the life of abandoned dogs within the designated date.

 

 

 

 





In AAPAM, there are currently nearly 40 cats awaiting an adoption.

"We don't want innocent lives to be terminated for stupid reasons," Lee added. "All of the animals are living beings like humans. They are all able to feel pain, hunger and thirst. Crucifying any suffering upon fellow creatures just due to their inability to speak is a mere excuse. Lives should be respected and there should be life opportunities and equality for animals such as for humans," Lee explained her point of view with a strong emphasis on respecting life.

AAPAM have been accomplishing parenting and rescuing projects for more than 100 animals. Among them are mostly elderly, handicapped or cross-bred animals who find it difficult to capture the heart of people.

There are currently nearly 60 dogs and 40 cats awaiting an adoption at AAPAM. "We are in need of huge supporting funds and absolutely, the support from voluntary helpers is not enough to support the huge expenditure, since there is a lack of supporting, we have set up a program," Chou said.
