UM Library (E2)
The UM Wu Yee Sun Library has a floor area of 32,000 square metres. It has the capacity to hold one million copies of books. The design of its atrium makes full use of natural lighting, and there is a sky garden on the second floor, creating a comfortable learning environment for readers. There is a colourful column in the middle, which symbolises cultural diversity. The round exhibition hall on the fifth floor perfectly complements the square atrium, reflecting the ancient Chinese belief that, ’the heaven is round and the earth is flat.’

University Gallery (E1)
Located next to the library, the University Gallery is an ideal place for UM members and visitors to acquaint themselves with the university’s history and latest developments.

University Hall (N2)
The University Hall consists of an auditorium with a seating capacity of nearly 1,000, a patron service room, a performance room, and a rehearsal area. It can also be used for ceremonies.

The sculpture ‘The Wall of Great Wisdom’
In 2018, the Ministry of Education of China gifted UM a sculpture ‘The Wall of Great Wisdom’. The sculpture is engraved with the five virtues listed in the university motto and the words ‘Great Knowledge’ and ‘Great Character’, two expectations we have for our students. The sculpture also symbolises our commitment to promoting the fine traditional Chinese culture and virtues.

Administration Building (N6)
The Administration Building houses offices of the university’s top management and many administrative units. The thermal-insulation glass installed on the façade of the building allows one to enjoy the beautiful natural views from inside the building.

Sports Facilities (N8-N9)
UM has various large-scale sports facilities, including the UM Sports Complex with an indoor swimming pool, an athletic field, and outdoor sports facilities. The five-storey UM Sports Complex has a total net floor area of approximately 9,600 square metres. It can be used for large-scale events and performances.

Scientific Research Base (N21-N26)
With a gross floor area of 123,860 square metres, the Scientific Research Base has six research buildings, which are mainly for research on the Internet of Things for smart city, Chinese medicine, electronics and information technology, applied physics and materials engineering, energy and environmental protection, as well as health sciences. UM’s three state key laboratories, in microelectronics, the Internet of Things for smart city, and Chinese medicine are also located here. The Scientific Research Base is committed to producing more research results, aiming to support Macao’s economic diversification and sustainable development.

Central Teaching Building (E3-E7)
The Central Teaching Building has a capacity of 3,000 students having classes at the same time. Most of the first-year undergraduate courses and general education courses are conducted there. It is also an ideal place for after-class discussions and study.

Student Activity Centre (E31)
The Student Activity Centre consists of an activity centre and a theatre. The centre houses offices and meeting rooms for the Students’ Union and its many sub-organisations, as well as activity spaces for students. The theatre has a seating capacity of 250 and is used for various events.

University Mall (S8)
The University Mall comprises several restaurants, banks, a supermarket, a travel agency, a post office, and shops, to provide students and staff with convenient day-to-day services. It is a major gathering and recreational venue for faculty and students.

Staff Quarters (S21-S36)
There are 16 buildings in the Staff Quarters, including management offices, green space, and amenities for children. On the ground floor of each building, there is an activity room for the residents.

Postgraduate Houses (S1-S4)
The Postgraduate Houses are where our master’s and PhD students live. The area has a small indoor sports venue, an activity room, and offices for dormitory management personnel and student counselling personnel.

Faculties (E11-12, E21-22, E32-33)
The faculties are within walking distance of one another, with separate vehicle and pedestrian routes to ensure safety and convenience. Faculty buildings are connected either by covered walkways or on the second floor, with learning commons and green courtyards on the ground floor, to facilitate teacher-student interaction as well as peer interaction.
Residential Colleges (S9, W11-14, W21-23, W33-34)
UM’s residential college system, formed by ten residential colleges (RCs), serves as a platform for community and peer education as well as knowledge integration. The RCs create an environment conductive to interdisciplinary learning where students from different professional backgrounds can inspire each other and learn from each other.
Turtle Pond
The turtle pond is located in the garden between E11 and E12, with an area of approximately 30 square metres. Adjacent to it is an 80-square-metre fish pond.
The Graduate Statue
Located at the lakeside near ‘The Wall of Great Wisdom’, the Graduate Statue symbolises the self-driven and diligent attitude of UM students in their academic pursuits as required by the university.
Man Lung Garden
The Man Lung Garden houses nearly 100 pots of penjing pieces which take different shapes and styles. Visitors to the garden can seek inspiration for their busy lives, no matter they are studying or working.
