Currently I’m studying the works by the great philosophers from the Pre-Qin Period, including works by Lao Tzu, Chuang Tzu, Meng Tzu, and Han Fei Tzu and of course the timeless Analects of Confucius which appears as dialogues between Confucius and his disciples. These classics are like the footprints of these great philosophers. So when I study these works, I treat them as such. In other words, I try to uncover the various aspects of lives of these giants, such as their cultural codes the historical sites where the relevant events unfolded, their unique ways of looking at a problem. The process of studying these issues is like having heart-to-heart conversations with them. And through such equal and lively conversations, it is then possible to turn ancient wisdom into modern wisdom which not only has resonance for contemporary living but serves as a medium of conversing with the world.
