To promote the spirit of ‘love the country, love Macao’ among local young people, the National Flag Team of the University of Macau (UM) held a sharing session at Hou Kong Middle School. The aim was to enhance students’ knowledge of the national flag and flag-raising etiquette, and to raise their awareness of national security.
A flag-raising ceremony was held by Hou Kong Middle School’s flag-raising team, with members of the UM National Flag Team saluting both the national and regional flags. During the sharing session, Iao Tun Ieong, principal of Hou Kong Middle School, encouraged the youth to seize opportunities to promote the spirit of ‘love the country, love Macao’. Members of both UM and Hou Kong Middle School shared historical anecdotes with the school’s students and teachers. Members of the UM National Flag Team also gave them a deeper understanding of their role. Through the event, members of both UM and Hou Kong Middle School learned more about the contributions made by both institutions to the development and prosperity of the country.
