As part of the University Lecture Series, the University of Macau (UM) will hold a talk titled ‘Insights from X-ray: A Beam that Triggered 25 Nobel Prizes’ on Friday 19 January. Zhang Ze, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Zhejiang University, will be the speaker. During the talk, Prof Zhang will discuss the impact of X-rays on the progress of human civilisation from 1895 to the present day. He will also talk about how scientists have extended the study of X-ray to interdisciplinary research in physics, chemistry, and physiology, as well as the 25 Nobel laureates directly linked to X-ray studies.
