The 4th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Outstanding Young Entrepreneur Award Ceremony, organised by the Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Union, was held today (27 September) at the branch venues in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Macao. The Macao branch venue is located at the University of Macau (UM). At the event, awards were presented to 100 young entrepreneurs who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the Greater Bay Area, of which 14 are from Macao, including seven UM alumni. More than 3,000 people, including both in-person and online attendees, participated in the award ceremony.
Speaking at the event, Lei Wai Nong, secretary for economy and finance of the Macao SAR, said that the award ceremony aims to recognise the achievements of young entrepreneurs and demonstrates that the market in the Greater Bay Area is thriving. He added that the country’s efforts to promote economic recovery and transformation will bring new business opportunities and new forms and modes of business and create a favourable environment for entrepreneurs.
Following a rigorous and independent selection process by academic institutions and experts, 14 young entrepreneurs from Macao were selected for five award categories. Among them, seven are UM alumni—Cheong Ka Wo, co-founder of Macau E&M Holding Limited and Kento Engineering Co Ltd, was awarded the Outstanding Young Entrepreneur Award; Zhang Jie, chairman of China Construction Engineering (Macau) Company Limited, was awarded the Outstanding Young Entrepreneur Award; Jorge Valente, chairman of H.C. Group (Macau) Limited, was awarded the Outstanding Young Entrepreneur Award; Ng Hong Kei, executive director of BoardWare Information System Limited, was awarded the Outstanding Young Entrepreneur Award; Ng Wai Kuan, executive director of Macau Cultural & Creative Integrated Services Centre Company Limited, was awarded the Best Cultural Creativity Project; Lo King Hang, senior vice president of Melco Resorts & Entertainment and general manager of Altira Macau & Mocha Clubs, was awarded the Best Commercial Service Provider; and Ni Jingyun, founder and chairman of Macau Chiherbal Health Technology Company Limited and Aoyeas Health and Science Co Ltd, was awarded the Best Entrepreneurship Project.
