The University of Macau (UM) will hold a University of Macau Development Foundation Named Professorship Lecture on Wednesday 16 March. Wang Qingjie, University of Macau Development Foundation Distinguished Professor of Philosophy and Religions Studies and associate dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Macau (UM), will be the keynote speaker and will give a talk titled ‘Thinking of Humanities in the Digital Age and in the Age of Letters’.

During the talk, Prof Wang will share his insights on the philosophical foundation of the digital age, how research in humanities would find its place in the digital age, whether calculative thinking will lead human culture to a new and more advanced development, or if it will bring about the end of human civilisation.
