The University of Macau (UM) English Debating Team won the overall championship of the Sixth National Shantou Inter-varsity English Debate Competition that was held between 28 to 29 November. This is the first time that the UM English Debating Team has won a championship at this competition since advancing to the semi-final in 2018. This year’s event attracted debating teams from 48 universities around the country, including Sun Yat-sen University, Shantou University, and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies.
