The University of Macau (UM) Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering recently inaugurated its Alumni Association and held an election for the association’s General Assembly. The association aims to provide a platform for UM graduates, professors, and current students in the field, as well as practitioners from the electrical, electronic, and computer engineering industries to exchange ideas with each other. The association will organise various activities to help promote the economic diversification of Macao. Since its establishment in 1989, the department has produced many outstanding graduates in various fields, including electrical engineering, electronic engineering, communication, system control, biomedical engineering, integrated circuit design, power supply system for electrified railways, electric systems, and Internet of Things technologies.
