Helena Buescu, a professor from the University of Lisbon, recently gave lectures and a short course to University of Macau (UM) students at the invitation of UM’s Chinese-Portuguese Bilingual Teaching and Training Centre (CPBTTC). During the talk, Buescu shared her academic and research experience with UM faculty members and students. Participants in the lectures also included faculty members and students of other local higher education institutions and professionals in fields related to Portuguese language studies.
In May, the CPBTTC will continue to invite scholars from various fields to give talks and hold meetings. The events will cover a wide range of topics, including Portuguese language teaching methods, course material, assessment and language standards, language policies, Portuguese lexicon, grammar, and bilingual tasks. Prof Ye Zhiliang from the Department of Portuguese will also teach a training course in the usage of Portuguese language in a business environment in late April.
