The Second ‘Return of Kings’ International Varsity Debating Contest opened today (5 July) at the University of Macau (UM). The five-day competition attracted debating teams from the Renmin University of China, Dalian University of Technology, the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Soochow University, the University of Malaya, the National University of Singapore, the University of Sydney, and UM. In the opening contest, UM’s debating team beat its counterpart from the University of Sydney. The event is co-organised by UM’s Students Affairs Office and Chinese Debate Association, with assistance from the UM Postgraduate Association and Mandarin Debating Society under the UM Students’ Union.
