The History Association under the University of Macau (UM) Students’ Union recently arranged for 19 students to participate in a field trip to Cambodia. During the six-day trip, the students visited Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom in Siem Reap, and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and Choeung Ek Genocidal Center in Phnom Penh. Part of the activities in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, the trip aimed to broaden the students’ horizons and increase their understanding of the impact of World War II on Southeast Asian countries.
