The University of Macau (UM) recently held the Fifth Cross-Strait
PhD Forum, which was focused on the topic of “key internal and external factors
for modernisation of governance system and governance capacity”. Organised by
UM’s Department of Government and Public Administration, with assistance from Sun
Yat-Sen University’s School of Government, City University of Hong Kong’s
Department of Public Policy, and Taiwan University’s Department of Political
Science, the forum attracted more than 40 PhD students and master’s students
from Peking University, Remin University of China, the City University of Hong
Kong, UM, Taiwan University, and the National University of Singapore.
