Hosted by the Tertiary Education Services Office from 12 November to 14 November, the competition attracted debating teams of higher education institutions from Macao SAR, Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan, mainland China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
Participating universities include: Peking University (mainland China),Tsinghua University (mainland China),Hong Kong University (Hong Kong SAR),National University of Singapore (Singapore),International Christian University (Japan),MARA University Technology (Malaysia),Ateneo de Manila University (Philippines),Chulalongkorn University (Thailand),Wenzao Ursuline College of Languages (Taiwan),Macau Polytechnic Institute (Macao SAR),University of St. Joseph (Macao SAR), University of Macau (Macao SAR).
With 2 teams participating, UM Team-A advanced to the grand final together with teams from the National University of Singapore, MARA University Technology, and Ateneo de Manila University after 6 rounds of fierce competition.
Competing with some of the best debaters across Asia, Ms. Ng Chi Mei from UM Team-A stood out from 32 debaters and got the 3rd Best Debater Award, while her teammate, Mr. Omoleye Segun Emmanuel, was ranked 6th with his accumulated individual scores.
