| Conteúdo | : | Since ancient times, local chronicles have played an important role in recording history, advising government, and educating the public. To preserve this tradition, the Macao SAR Government included the compilation of Macao Gazetteer in its second five-year plan and commenced the project in 2022. Scholars from different places and people from different sectors in Macao have been involved in compiling the gazetteer. Macao Gazetteer documents the history and development of Macao from ancient times to the establishment of the SAR government, as well as the current status of the city. It is divided into seven series: General Overview and Major Events, Geography, Law and Politics, Economy, Culture, Society, and People. The University of Macau has recently published Macao Gazetteer Series: Book of Geography. The book covers various aspects such as Macao’s history, natural environment, population changes, urban planning, transportation, public utilities, and environmental protection, providing a comprehensive overview of Macao’s development and current status. |
