In order to support the University of Macau’s (UM) anti-epidemic measures and preparation work for class resumption, various alumni associations of the university held a series of fundraising campaigns in March and April for epidemic prevention supplies. The alumni associations include the University of Macau Alumni Association, the University of Macau (MinNan) Alumni Association, the University of Macau (Shanghai) Alumni Association, the University of Macau (Shenzhen) Alumni Association Organising Committee, the University of Macau Alumni Sport Association, and the University of Macau (Beijing) Alumni Association, The campaigns received support from UM alumni from different places and successfully gathered supplies such as medical masks, thermal detectors, alcohol-based hand sanitisers, and disinfectant sprays. The donated supplies were recently delivered to UM. Vice Rector (Global Affairs) Rui Martins, Dean of Students Paul Pang, and Alumni and Development Office Director Cindy Lam accepted the supplies on behalf of the university.
UM appreciates the donations from the various alumni associations and extends its gratitude to the donors. The fundraising campaigns not only embodied the tradition of giving back to the alma mater, but also provide opportunities to promote collaboration between different alumni associations. The university hopes that all alumni associations will continue to follow and support the alma mater’s development.
