The University of Macau (UM) Dance Troupe recently participated in the International Youth Dance Festival 2019. Organised by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, the event took place at various locations in Macao, including the Macao Forum, the Macau Tower, the Ruins of St Paul’s, and Anim’Arte Nam Van. The event attracted dance groups from and outside Macao and dance enthusiasts.
The UM Dance Troupe was selected to be one of the local performance groups. The team gave a performance inspired by swans in the opening parade. ‘Swan’ illustrated the beauty of a swan and its beautiful movements. Members of the audience were touched by the smooth and fluid movements of the dancers. The UM Dance Troupe also gave a performance in the event’s closing ceremony together with the other ten local dance groups and 16 non-local dance groups.
The International Youth Dance Festival is one of the events in the programme of the First Art Macao. The event serves as a platform for young dance enthusiasts to exchange ideas, build friendship, and display different dance styles.
