Macao SAR Chief Executive Chui Sai On have appointed 13 people as judges of the Court of First Instance or prosecutors of the Public Prosecutions Office. Of the 13 people, ten are University of Macau (UM) alumni.
According to the Official Gazette of the Macao SAR released today (23 October), on the recommendation by the independent committee for recommending judges, the six alumni from UM’s Faculty of Law who have been appointed as judges of the Court of First Instance are Chong Chi Wai, Rong Qi, Chang Sin I, Chu Ka Sin, Chan Ka Man, and Xu Teng. On the nomination by the prosecutor general, the four alumni from UM’s FLL who have been appointed as prosecutors of the Public Prosecutions Office are Mui Cheng Fei, Chong Sio U, Pao In Hang, and Lei Un San. These two executive orders will take effect on 1 November.
Of the ten appointed UM alumni, Chong Chi Wai, Chu Ka Sin, Chan Ka Man, Mui Cheng Fei, Pao In Hang, and Lei Un San are also graduates from UM’s Honours College.
