A team of four master’s students from the University of Macau (UM) named ‘Golden Wound Dressing Co Ltd’ recently won an excellence prize in the national final of the One Million Dollar International Entrepreneurship Competition. This year’s competition received nearly 1,000 business proposals. As the champion of the Macao regional competition, the UM team, coached by Assistant Professor Wang Chunming and Dr Wang Minchuan, competed with 14 other teams from Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong in the final. Founded by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2011, the competition aims to attract ideas with the potential to become successful businesses. Since 2016, the Macao regional competition has been hosted by UM and sponsored by the Bank of China Macau Branch.
