The University of Macau (UM) Mandarin Debating Team recently won the championship of the Second ‘Return of Kings’ International Varsity Debating Contest after beating their counterpart from Soochow University in the final. In addition, a team from Pui Ching Middle School had a mock debate with another team formed by students from different universities. The event was co-organised by UM’s Students Affairs Office and Chinese Debate Association, with assistance from the UM Postgraduate Association and Mandarin Debating Society under the UM Students’ Union.
