Jao Tsung-I, Wang Meng, Louis Cha, Mo Yan, Yu Kwang Chung, and Pai Hsien-Yung are all recipients of honorary doctorates of letters from UM. The scholars are very influential in the field of Chinese language and literature and have made significant contributions to its development.
