A delegation from the University of Macau (UM) Cheng Yu Tung College (CYTC), headed by CYTC Master Prof. Chung Ling, visited residential colleges in Taiwan on 30 April and 1 May.

At the first stop, Tunghai University, the delegation was warmly received by Tunghai University Poya School Master Prof. Wei-Hua Wang. Prof. Wang introduced liberal arts education as well as the courses and programmes offered in the six-year-old college. In return Prof. Chung told Prof. Wang about the residential college system at UM as well as the educational philosophy and activities of CYTC. During their stay at Tunghai University, UM representatives also visited the Luce Memorial Chapel, which was designed by the renowned architect Ieoh Ming Pei.

On May 1, UM representatives visited Chengchi University in Taipei, where they met with Vice President Prof. Lian-Kang Tsai and Director of the Office of Residential Colleges Prof. Mei-Hua Lan. Prof. Tsai and Prof. Lan introduced their four residential colleges as well as the workshops and other activities in these colleges. UM students were very impressed by the creative design and the home-like atmosphere of the X College at Chengchi University.

Other members of the delegation included Resident Fellow Diane Lu, Functional Head of the Administrative Office Simon Lok, Resident Tutor Mr. Fan, and seven House Association members.
