The Student Association of the East Asia College (EAC) on 27 October held a Halloween party, which was perhaps the longest Halloween party in the world. The celebration began at half past two in the afternoon, with EAC students carving jack-o’-lanterns with the help of a professional carver. The best part of the celebration, the masquerade, kicked off at seven o’clock in the evening. Students dressed in all kinds of costumes danced in the roof garden, shrieking with laughter. How can the celebration of a Halloween be complete without watching a bloodcurdling horror film with a bunch of “vampires” and “monsters”? And that was exactly what EAC students did at the end of the masquerade. The film ended at around ten o’clock. Students streamed out of the multimedia room, tipsy with excitement. And the jack-o’-lanterns they made earlier kept blinking until deep into the night, as if they too were too excited to sleep.
