We’ve all heard of that maxim: You should never judge a person by his or her appearance. Perhaps nowhere does this maxim ring truer than in a masquerade party, where everyone is actually wearing a mask of their own choosing, like what the East Asia College (EAC) students did in an earlier masquerade party.
EAC organised a masquerade party on 19 December at the Holiday Inn Hotel to celebrate Christmas and New Year. Students in carefully prepared costumes and masks greeted each other with feigned surprises, wild guesses and happy laughter. After a feast of buffet, the party reached a climax, with participants dancing in unison the Psy Gangnam style dance, a dance that was originally performed by a South Korean singer and quickly became popular around the world after its video went viral on the internet.
Participants said they enjoyed the party very much. A student who was in charge of the party said she hoped the activity could help students to develop event organisation and problem-solving skills.
