The 2024 Annual Meeting of the Alliance for Technology, Innovation, and Talent Development in Western Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and the Western GBA Technology and Education Forum was held today (15 November) at the University of Macau (UM). During the event, over 40 representatives from government departments and member universities in the Western GBA reviewed the work of the alliance over the past year and discussed the future development of the alliance. They also held in-depth discussions on the promotion of scientific and technological innovation and talent cultivation, and shared their insights on the high-level development of the integration of science and education in the GBA.
In his opening speech, Yonghua Song, rector of UM and chairman of the alliance, said that UM will continue to support the development of the alliance. He expressed hope that the alliance will continue to serve as a bridge and platform to enhance the scientific and technological innovation capabilities and talent cultivation of its members. Song also proposed three key initiatives for the development of the alliance: strengthening in-depth cooperation in scientific research, improving talent cultivation, and promoting international development.
