To widen students’ understanding about Business Information Systems (BIS), its development and prospects, the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) of the University of Macau held a BIS Day yesterday (4th), at the STDM Auditorium of the University of Macau Library. The event was warmly welcomed by first-year FBA students and the auditorium was crowed with people..

BIS is one of the specializations offered by FBA. Students in the BIS program learn about technologies as well as the management of technologies. To provide students with an industry perspective about BIS, the organizers invited three external speakers. They were Mr. Peter Lee, Solutions Manager of Microsoft Macau, Mr. Terry Cheung, General Manager of CTM’s IT Operations Department, and Ms. Dilys Lam, Director of Financial Solutions at IT Channel. They presented topics ranging from business IT applications to prospects for information system professionals. Students found the talks useful and actively took part in the question and answer session to learn more about the prospect of being a talent in business information systems.

The BIS Day also had other attractions. They included a prize presentation for a website competition, a drama performed by BIS students, and many lucky draw prizes. With the support and sponsorship of companies such as CTM, MEGA Data Tech, Microsoft Macau, Smartone, the Vanda Group, and 3 Macau, the BIS Day ended with a great success.
