The vice-governor of Fujian Provincial People’s Government Ye Shuangyu led his delegation to visit the University of Macau on 17th Oct, 2007 and met with Prof. Iu Vai Pan, Rector of UM. Ye complimented UM on the contributions and achievements it had made for training high-caliber persons and he hoped that more Fujian students could be recruited to UM. He also made three suggestions to UM: first, promote the cooperation and communication between UM and Fujian universities and establish a student exchange program; second, provide training opportunities for civil servants in Fujian province; third, invite UM delegates to participate in the exhibition of technological achievements to be held in Fujian in June next year. The meeting took place in a relaxed atmosphere. After the meeting, Rector Iu Vai Pan led the group to pay a visit to Macao Cultural Center and other facilities in UM.
