The University of Macau (UM) recently organised a series of academic events to celebrate the inauguration of its new campus. The conference on the Roman law system and Macao, the last of this series, was held on 6 November and 7 November, on the new campus. More than 20 experts and scholars from mainland China, Portugal, Italy, Latin America and Macao attended the conference. Co-organised by UM, Macao Foundation, Hunan Unviersity, and a unit under the Italian National Research Council, the conference aimed to provide a platform for participants to discuss the evolution of the Roman law system in the modern world as well as its application in the international trade.
