The University of Macau (UM) Mandarin Debating Team recently won the third prize at the International Chinese Debating Competition 2016. Hu Tianyu, a postgraduate student from the Faculty of Law, won three Best Debater Awards. The competition is one of the most influential Chinese debating competitions in the world. This year’s event attracted 24 debating teams from Singapore, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
