The University of Macau (UM) has always encouraged its students to organise service learning-related activities to cultivate caring about society and to realise a multifaceted education. Recently fellows of the residential colleges and staff of the Student Affairs Office of UM went to Hong Kong and Guangzhou to attend the fourth Asia-Pacific Regional Conference on Service-Learning, which was organised by Lingnan University in Hong Kong. Scholars from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Fu Jen Catholic University, Sun Yat-sen University and other well-known universities in the Asia-Pacific region attended the conference and shared their experience in service learning.
