The selected proceedings of a round-table seminar on literature on pain and suffering  hosted by the University of Macau’s (UM) Department of English, have been published in the Journal of Literature and Trauma Studies (Vol 2, No 1-2), showing the wider academic impact of thematically focused conferences and seminars held at UM.

Dr Damian Shaw from the Department of English co-edited the volume and contributed an article on the British poetry about slavery. The special issue also contains peer-reviewed articles by other UM scholars, including Prof William Franke’s article on the post-holocaust poetry of Paul Celan, and Dr Man Yin Chiu’s article on literary representations of the Malayan Emergency.

The journal is published by the University of Nebraska Press. The e-version is available on the scholarly website Project Muse (http://muse.jhu.edu/).
