The European Union Short Film Challenge 2015 will be held at the University of Macau (UM) on Thursday 3 December. Nine short films about the impact of the development in Macao will be screened in the Student Activity Centre, starting at 7:00pm.

The European Union (EU) Short Film Challenge is part of the activities implemented by the European Union Academic Programme in Macao (EUAP-M). The theme of this year’s films, ‘#development’, echoes the EU’s theme for 2015, ‘European Year for Development’. This is the second year that the EUAP-M has organised this competition for students in the video workshop course of the Department of Communication at UM. The students have used documentary and narrative approaches to explore how Macao and its residents have developed and changed in recent years.

EUAP-M was jointly established in 2012 by UM and the Institute of European Studies of Macau (IEEM) and is co-financed by the EU. The programme aims to help Macao residents and students better understand the EU.
