21 students and resident fellows from the University of Macau (UM) Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College (HFPJC) recently participated in a volunteer teaching and service learning trip to Si Yuan Experimental School in Yunnan province. The trip aimed to increase students’ global awareness and help them understand the meaning of volunteer work and the need to give back to society. During the trip, the UM students organised many activities for local primary and secondary school students, including Little Photographers workshop, Little Inventors Workshop, creative writing workshop, hygiene education class, and English quiz games. The UM students also presented recycled soap sponsored by a community service organisation to the local students.
