To celebrate the 71st anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the University of Macau’s (UM) National Flag Guard of Honour today (1 October) held a flag-raising ceremony in the university’s Lotus Square. UM Rector Yonghua Song and faculty and students attended the ceremony. In response to the Macao SAR government’s instructions to prevent the spread of coronavirus, those watching the ceremony onsite were required to have their temperature measured before entering the venue and to wear a mask and keep a safe distance from one another throughout the ceremony.
