The University of Macau today (3 September) held a flag-raising ceremony before the convocation. The ceremony is of great significance. It not only conveys good wishes for new students, the motherland, and the Macao Special Administrative Region, but also expresses gratitude to frontline medical personnel and workers fighting the pandemic. To avoid large gatherings in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Health Bureau of the Macao SAR government, the university only arranged for about 100 student and faculty representatives to attend the ceremony in the Lotus Square. The rest of the students and faculty members watched the live stream on social media platforms.
