The University of Macau (UM) holds flag-raising ceremonies on important occasions, including the National Day, the graduation ceremony, and the convocation ceremony. This year, UM’s National Flag Team also conducted a flag-raising ceremony on the morning of the Ceremony for the Conferment of Honorary and Higher Degrees (HD ceremony). UM Rector Yonghua Song, members of the university’s senior management team, as well as faculty members and students attended the ceremony.
In addition, UM recently received a third prize in the group category at an activity for flag bearers from different schools in China. It was the first time that UM had participated in this activity. Chen Szu Han from UM was ranked among the ten best flag bearers.
The flag-raising ceremony was held at the university’s Lotus Plaza. The solemn ceremony was carefully prepared and conducted. It was testament to UM members’ patriotic feelings towards the motherland as well as their strong sense of national identity. The ceremony also symbolised the university’s good wishes for the postgraduate students who were about to start a new chapter in their lives.
