A delegation led by Edgar Neves, minister of health of São Tomé and Príncipe, and José Manuel Vieira Dias da Cunha, state secretary for public health of Angola, recently visited the University of Macau (UM). The delegation was warmly received by UM Rector Yonghua Song, Vice Rector (Global Affairs) Rui Martins, and Global Affairs Office Interim Director Kevin Zhen.
During the meeting, both parties agreed to continue to strengthen collaboration between universities in China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and to create a training base for bilingual language professionals.
Rector Song told the guests about UM’s latest developments and its leading position in the world in the fields of Chinese medical sciences and health sciences. According to Rector Song, as Asia’s largest training base for Portuguese language professionals, UM is dedicated to producing outstanding professionals for China and beyond. The university also serves as an important platform for collaborations between China and Portuguese-speaking countries and actively supports the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. During the visit, members of the delegation visited UM’s State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (QRCM Lab).
