Wang Panpan, a PhD student from the University of Macau (UM) Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS), recently received a third prize at the Second China Gut Festival for her new discovery of a Chinese medicinal compound that can reduce the toxicity of cancer treatment. The research study was jointly sponsored by UM, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Macao Science and Technology Development Fund. Her instructor is Prof Yan Ru from the ICMS.
