The State Key Laboratory of the Internet of Things for Smart City of the University of Macau (UM) and Shenzhen Beidou Intelligent Technology Co, Ltd, recently signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on maximising the advantages of both parties in the fields of big data applications in smart city development and intelligent transport. The agreement also aims to strengthen the exchange of research personnel and collaboration among them to ensure high-quality economic development and to enhance the competitiveness of the technology industry in the Greater Bay Area.
The agreement was signed by Prof Xu Chengzhong, dean of UM’s Faculty of Science and Technology, and Zhang Fan, general manager of Shenzhen Beidou Intelligent Technology Co, Ltd. Both parties will strengthen collaboration in personnel training and the development of technologies and products for smart city development, airports, public transport systems, subways, highways, and intelligent logistics. Both parties also agree to promote such technologies and products in mainland China and Macao.
In addition, Zhang and a delegation from the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited UM’s three state key labs and Choi Kai Yau College. The guests were impressed with UM’s research teams, facilities and achievements, and expressed hope for more scientific exchange and collaboration in the future.
