A delegation from Zhejiang University’s College of Electrical Engineering, led by its dean Sheng Kuang, recently visited the University of Macau (UM) and participated in a seminar on new demand-side technologies for building smart cities, which was co-organised by UM’s State Key Laboratory of the Internet of Things for Smart City and Companhia de Electricidade de Macau (CEM). During the event, experts and scholars from Zhejiang University had an in-depth discussion on technological advances related to demand side response and power converters for building smart cities.
UM Rector Yonghua Song appreciates the tremendous support UM has all along received from the central and Macao SAR governments, with the new campus being a good example of the successful implementation of the ‘One Country Two Systems’ policy in Macao. According to Rector Song, UM’s State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City will continue to focus on basic theories and research in key issues in order to provide technical support for building smart cities in Macao, the Greater Bay Area, and other parts of China.
At the seminar, three professors from Zhejiang University, namely Ding Yi, Wu Xinke, and Fang Youtong, gave presentations, in which they shared their latest research findings in the fields of demand side response, high-frequency high-density power converter, and experimental platforms for high-temperature superconductors.
