A delegation led by Shen Xiaoming, governor of Hainan province, visited UM and was warmly received by Lam Kam Seng, chair of the UM University Council; Yonghua Song, rector of UM; and Wang Yitao, director of UM’s Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences. During the visit, UM and Hainan University signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the promotion of academic exchange, collaboration between industry, universities, and research institutions, as well as the training of professionals and collaboration between universities in Macao and Hainan province. Witnessed by Lam and Shen, the MOU was signed by Song and Hainan University President Luo Qingming. Lam expresses hope that the MOU will strengthen collaboration between Macao and Hainan province in various fields. Song told the guests about UM’s campus facilities and academic development, as well as the four reasons that make UM a unique university: its location in a special administrative region, its special mission, special status, and a unique model of education. Members of the delegation also visited UM’s State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (QRCM Lab).
