Three University of Macau (UM) members, namely Prof Wong Pak Kin, Dr Wong Seng Fat, and Dr Thomas Cheang, have been awarded the titles of ‘Chartered Building Engineer’ and ‘Fellow’ of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE).
Prof Wong Pak Kin is the associate dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) and professor of the Department of Electromechanical Engineering. He has made significant contributions in the accreditation of UM’s engineering programmes and has played an active role in promoting building services engineering at UM. Dr Wong Seng Fat is an assistant professor of the Department of Electromechanical Engineering. He also serves as a programme coordinator of the FST, the Department of Electromechanical Engineering, and the Honours College. Dr Thomas Cheang is a PhD graduate from UM, a council member of the Macau Institution of Engineers, and a senior member of IEEE.
Founded in 1925, the CABE is a leading body for professionals specialising in the design, construction, evaluation, and maintenance of buildings. The Chartered Fellow membership is the most senior grade within the CABE and reflects a member’s knowledge, expertise, experience, and position in the industry.
