A delegation led by Zhang Jin, vice president of Peking University (PKU) and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited the University of Macau (UM) and was warmly received by Yonghua Song, rector of UM. The two parties had in-depth discussions, aiming to further advance research collaboration between the two universities.
Song said that UM and PKU have maintained a cooperative relationship for nearly 30 years. Last year, the two universities established a strategic partnership to foster more fruitful results. He expressed hope that under the ‘C9+3+1’ cooperation framework and the strategic partnership framework, UM and PKU will continue to leverage their respective research strengths and resources to strengthen cooperation in talent cultivation, research innovation, academic exchanges and exchanges between residential colleges, to deepen exchanges in various disciplines, especially in materials science, chemistry, pharmacology, computer science and law, and to promote talent cultivation and research innovation in Macao and Beijing.
The PKU delegation also visited the University Gallery, UM Library, State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, and Institute of Applied Physics and Materials Engineering. They highly praised UM’s campus facilities and research development.
