After 8 preliminary rounds, UMEDT obtained the highest team points. The two UM debaters then successfully defeated the opposing teams in the Octo- and Quarter-Final rounds, which made UMEDT the First Prize of Excellence winner. Besides, both of the debaters were awarded the Best Debater Award, with the highest individual speaker points among all the debaters.

After the competition, UMEDT got the opportunity to show the promotional video to all the debating teams in the competition.
