Prof. Rik Carl D’Amato from the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities was recently elected as a Clinical Neuropsychology Fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA) due to his outstanding contributions in the field of clinical neuropsychology. There are currently less than 150 Clinical Neuropsychology Fellows in the world.

APA was founded in 1892 by a group of 26 men. Its first president was G. Stanley Hall. It is a scientific and professional organization that represents psychology in the United States. With 150,000 members, APA is the largest association of psychologists in the world. APA has numerous criteria for fellowship, including outstanding and unusual contributions in the field of psychology, published papers in psychology, and excellent leadership skills, etc.
 
Prof. Rik Carl D’Amato’s key research areas include neuropsychological assessment and interventions, personality assessment, subtyping children’s learning disabilities, serving children in schools, work with families, and serving patients with Traumatic Brain Injuries, etc. His academic achievements have won him widespread recognition. So far he has published five books in psychology, one of which was published by the world-renowned Springer Press. He has also published more than one hundred articles and book chapters in international academic journals and texts. He served as Editor-in-Chief of the prestigious School Psychology Quarterly journal. In 2005, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of School Psychologists Neuropsychology Interest Group. His academic qualifications include being a Licensed School Psychologist, Nationally Certified Counselor, Neuropsychology Fellow, etc.
