A paper co-authored by Iau Teng Pio, associate dean and PhD supervisor of the Faculty of Law (FLL) at the University of Macau (UM), and Li Yuhao, a PhD student in FLL, has been awarded a first prize at the 3rd New Era Mediation Forum. The paper, which is also the only award-winning paper from Macao at the forum, provides valuable insights and approaches for training commercial mediation professionals in the context of foreign-related legal systems.

The forum received a total of 126 papers from various institutions and individuals across the country, including those from the judicial administration system, courts, universities, and mediation organisations. After two rounds of rigorous assessment, the expert panel selected outstanding papers for first prizes, second prizes, third prizes, and honourable mentions. The paper co-authored by Prof Iau and Li discusses the training of commercial mediation professionals in the context of foreign-related legal systems from the perspective of Zhuhai, Guangdong Province. Li was also invited to present their research findings on talent cultivation in the field of commercial mediation at the forum.
